Clinique is truly an OG of makeup and skincare, but I actually don’t have a ton of Clinique in my collection. This foundation came to my attention when I saw someone with just beautiful skin and asked what they were wearing. Their response? Clinique Even Better Foundation, so of course I had to try it. Let me tell you, this stuff is just fantastic. That being said, if you’re a full coverage, matte finish foundation kind of person, I would just move right along from this review because this foundation is neither. This foundation is a light-medium buildable coverage and has a beautiful radiant finish. It looks like skin, it doesn’t feel heavy, it has SPF15 and doesn’t cling to dry patches. It plays well with other products and it does not break me out or clog my pores at all. Seriously good. The packaging on this is also good, it’s not bulky and it’s a squeeze tube so you’re not wasting product by pumping too much or dealing with a messy no-applicator glass bottle (ahem, Maybelline Fit Me).
The only downside to this foundation for me is that in the winter, I am especially pale and even the lightest shades in this foundation are a little too dark/too yellow for me at my palest. This is mostly a me problem though, as there are 21 well-distributed shades in the range so most other people should be able to find a shade that works for them. In the summer when I’ve got just a little more colour on me, I have no issues getting a good match.
At $36CAD, the price of this foundation is pretty mid-range but for the quality of this product and for how long it lasts, it’s worth its weight in coin.
